Music awards

Carnatic vocalist S. Krishna Murthy and veena vidwan R. Viswswaran will be presented Hamsadhwani Puraskara on Friday at a function at Bangalore Gayana Samaja. The awards are instituted by Hamsadhwani Creations.

Film on AIDS

The American Corner in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan will screen a documentary film on AIDS, "A closer walk", directed by Robert Bilheimer. The screening will be at the Bhavan's Khincha Auditorium

ISO 9001-2000

Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisations of Bangalore Urban District will celebrate the 80th birthday of Sai Baba on Saturday at Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre in Sanjaynagar. Talks will be delivered by eminent persons on the teachings of Sai Baba and facets of his life.

Photography fair

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan will mark National Wildlife Week with an exhibition of wildlife photographs by and in honour of late E. Hanumantha Rao from October 1 to 7. Over 100 photographs will be on display. It will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
