Back Blood donation camp today

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh AIDS Control Society (APSACS) is organising a blood donation camp at Visweswarayya Bhavan in Khairatabad, marking the Blood Donation Day.

"Over 500 students and youth are expected to donate and support the blood donation campaign," Dr Rajyalakshmi, President of the Indian Reddy Cross Society's Andhra Pradesh Chapter, said here in a press release on Friday.

Asking the people to come forward to donate blood, Dr Ramana Rao, Joint Director (Blood Safety, APSACS), said India needed 7.5 million units of blood annually. Andhra Pradesh needed about eight lakh units. But only four million units were available in the country. TheState fell short by half of its requirement.
