Varsity results

The results of Bangalore University's second semester B.Com., second and fourth semester postgraduate examinations of M.Ed., M.P.Ed. and M.A. (Economics, English, Political Science, Urdu, Sanskrit, Telugu and Hindi), held during August/September will be announced on October 4.

The principals of colleges affiliated to the university can collect the result sheets from the office of the Registrar (Evaluation), Natural Science Block, Bangalore University, according to a release said.

Convention

To mark its 10th anniversary, the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Management has organised a two-day national convention on October 3 and 4 on the theme "Creativity and innovation-a key to competitive advantage in the global economy.' The institute was started in 1995 with an intake of 60 students. Today, it has 240 students. Besides the traditional management courses, the institute offers a course on Business Ethics and Gandhian Thoughts.

Workshop

The Kamala College of Management and Science has organised an examination-oriented workshop on `Financial Accounting' for the first semester B.Com. students and `Corporate Accounting' for third semester students on the college premises on O.T.C. road, Cottonpet on Sunday. Bail plea rejected

The Special Court trying the multi-crore stamp paper racket cases on Saturday rejected the bail application of Rafi Ahmed, one of the 23 accused, who helped Abdul Kareem Telgi, the prime accused, in spreading the illegal stamp paper racket in the city and other parts of the State.

Fake passports

The immigration officials at HAL Airport arrested six persons who were allegedly carrying fake passports, on Saturday evening.

The police said the immigration officials handed over the accused, who were trying to leave the country, to the police.

They have been remanded in judicial custody.
