Back TN Industrial Explosives to launch new product range

TAMILNADU Industrial Explosives Ltd has doubled its emulsion explosives production capacity and plans to introduce a new range of explosives in January 2006, said an official press release.

The company's turnover was severely hit following the ban on production of nitro glycerine explosives, which account for about 70 per cent of its turnover, in April 2004. In 2004-05, Tamilnadu Industrial Explosives started marketing a range of emulsion explosives and its installed capacity was about 4,000 tonnes.

The company has now doubled the capacity of its emulsion explosives unit.

It is sourcing technology from an overseas company to produce a range of value-added products, which it hopes to launch by January 2006.

Also in the pipeline is a paper cartridge emulsion explosives product to be marketed in January 2006.
