Back Maruti hikes prices
Maruti has also jumped onto the price-hike bandwagon. Citing higher freight costs, it has raised the prices of almost all its models. It plans to maintain status quo on the prices of Swift until the bookings made until June 8 are cleared. The price hikes range between 0.2 per cent and 1 per cent. The prices of its lower-end small cars M800 and Alto have been hiked by Rs 1,500. The WagonR and Omni will be costlier by Rs 2,400. The prices of Zen and the company's utility vehicles Gypsy and Versa have been hiked by Rs 1,100. And Maruti's sedans Esteem and Baleno will be costlier by Rs 1,900 and Rs 1,100 respectively. Maruti would consider another price revision by the end of the year.
