Back Mixed trend at Kochi tea sale Our Bureau
Kochi , Oct 9 A MIXED trend persisted for almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. Though the dust sales witnessed a good general demand, it was comparatively low for leaf categories. Of the 11,73,000 kg on offer in the dust category, CTC's was generally easier by Rs 3-5. Orthodox was also lower. As per the figures made available with Forbes, Ewart and Figgis (Pvt) Ltd, the best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 52 and Rs 65, medium CTC realised Rs 43-50 and below medium were quoted Rs 20-25. Highgrown BOPD fetched prices between Rs 70 and Rs 95, while medium BOPD realised Rs 30-35. Secondaries were quoted at Rs 20-22. Of 3,36,000 kg of leaves, orthodox eased by Rs 2-4 with some withdrawals. CTC was also easier by Re1-2. The best Nilgiri varieties commanded prices between Rs 52 and Rs 76, medium Orthodox realised Rs 35-47. The best CTC leaf fetched between Rs 39 and Rs 45, while medium CTC leaf realised Rs 32-35. In the dust category, Kodanaad Cl.BOPD fetched the best prices of Rs 95 followed by Pasuparai FD by Rs 93. In the leaf varieties, Chamraj OP realised the best prices of Rs 107 followed by Kodanaad Cl.BOP by Rs 93.
