Back Fragrance of demand

Vendors selling marigold and chrysanthemum at a wholesale market in Jambagh in Hyderabad on Monday. Demand for flowers has peaked on the eve of Durga pooja.

Some farmers bring the flowers to the city directly from neighbouring villages in Ranga Reddy district and sell them at prices ranging between Rs 50 and Rs 190 a kg. At least 10 tonnes of marigold have come from Hosur and Bangalore in the last few days to meet the rising demand.
