Back Syndicate Bank to launch rural housing scheme for women Our Bureau
Mangalore , Oct. 12 THE Karwar regional office of Syndicate Bank will launch `Synd Kuteera' - a rural housing scheme for women belonging to the BPL (below poverty line) category - at Murdeshwar in Uttara Kannada district on October 15. A press release by the Karwar regional office said here on Wednesday that the scheme envisages a loan of Rs 20,000 and subsidy amount of Rs 10,000 to each beneficiary for the construction of low-cost houses. It said that the scheme is first of its kind to be introduced by the bank involving a non-governmental organisation as a facilitator for its implementation. Syndicate Bank, in association with Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd and Kadamba Charitable Institution of Sirsi, is launching the programme in Murdeshwar. Mr Prakash P. Mallya, Executive Director of the bank, will inaugurate the scheme. Mr Anantha Kumar Hegde, Member of Parliament from Uttara Kannada, Mr Ritesh Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada, Mr D.N. Kamath, General Manager of Syndicate Bank, and Mr R.N. Shetty, industrialist from Murdeshwar, will be present on the occasion, the release added.
