Kottayam , Oct. 13

SPOT rubber prices maintained a firm trend on Thursday.

The output was affected because of overnight rains that lashed over the plantation areas and practically there were no quantity sellers in the main marketing centres.

Though the covering groups were active in the trading floors, they were more cautious expecting a week-end profit-booking.

The futures weakened. The October contract was quoted at Rs 68.50 (Rs 69.89), November at Rs 66.82 (Rs 67), December at Rs 64.97 (Rs 65.06), and January at Rs 65.05 (Rs 65.27) per kg for RSS 4.

The November contract for RSS 4 was traded at Rs 66.65 against Rs 66.92 a kg on MCX.

The November futures for RSS 3 declined to 200.8 yen from 204 yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade was steady at Rs 77.66 a kg at Bangkok.

The spot prices per kg were as follows: RSS-4: Rs 68.75 (Rs 68.50); RSS-5: Rs 66.50 (Rs 66.50); ungraded: Rs 64.50 (Rs 64.50); ISNR 20: Rs 66 (Rs 66); and latex 60 per cent: Rs 45 (Rs 45).
