BANGALORE: A gang of persons riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain from a woman who was taking a morning walk in Subramanyapura police station limits on Thursday. Police said the victim, Gowramma, a resident of Gauravanagar, was walking in the layout when the culprits snatched her chain worth Rs. 20,000. A case has been registered.
Arrested
A special police constituted by the East division police has arrested three persons on the charge of extortion and recovered articles worth Rs. 16,000 from them. The police gave the names of the accused as Kalidasa alias Kali (21), resident of M.V. Garden, Ulsoor, Kashirajan alias Kashi (20) and Suresh (20), both residents of Old Byappanahalli. The police said the accused had extorted valuables from Vamshi Sai, a software engineer, on October 2 when the victim was walking on 13th Cross Road in Indiranagar around 11.30 p.m. The police said the accused were arrested on October 9 and have been remanded to judicial custody.

The North division police have arrested a man on the charge of lifting two-wheelers and recovered four motorcycles worth Rs. 1.29 lakhs from him. The police gave the name of the accused as Kutti alias Kuttiappa (22), resident of L.B.S. Nagar, Yelahanka. With the arrest, four theft cases reported from Yelahanka, K.G. Halli, Hoskote and Sidlaghatta police stations have been solved, the police claimed.
