Back Mixed trend in rubber prices Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Oct. 17 A MIXED trend prevailed in spot rubber market on Monday. Selling from dealers and growers continued to depress RSS-4, while ISNR-20 improved on export enquiries. While ungraded rubber also lost on improved selling pressure, the other grades remained steady with moderate volumes. Sheet rubber moved down to Rs 66.50 and Rs 66.25 a kg, respectively, at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 68 a kg on Saturday. The NMCE rubber futures weakened quoting the November delivery contract at Rs 64.94 (Rs 65.45), December at Rs 63.80 (Rs 64.06), and January at Rs 64 (Rs 64.35) per kg for RSS-4. The transactions were reported to be dull at 1,390 lots trading 1,009 lots in November, 174 lots in December, and 207 lots in January till mid-session. The November contract for RSS-4 fell to Rs 64.95 from Rs 65.31 per kg in MCX. The November futures for RSS-3 closed at 200 Yen per kg against 199.8 yen at TOCOM. The grade declined to Rs 77.33 per kg from Rs 77.66 at Bangkok. Spot rubber prices a kg were: RSS-4 Rs 66.50 (Rs 66.75); RSS-5 Rs 64 (Rs 64); ungraded Rs 61.50 (Rs 62); ISNR-20 Rs 63.50 (Rs 63.25); and latex 60% Rs 43.50 (Rs 43.50).
