Back Godavari Fert net profit rises

HYDERABAD: Godavari Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd (GFCL), part of the Murugappa group, has reported a significant growth both in net sales and post-tax profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal ended September 30, 2005.

As per the unaudited financial results, the company posted net sales of Rs 578.09 crore against Rs 452.81 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal and a net profit of Rs 11.45 crore (Rs 7.69 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 3.58 (Rs 2.40).

For the six-month period, the net sales amounted to Rs 727.07 crore (Rs 606.03 crore), while the post-tax profit stood at Rs 12.33 crore (Rs 1.17 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 3.86 (Rs 0.37).
