Back AP: Cabinet sanctions Rs 50 cr for VIMS Our Bureau
Visakhapatnam , Oct 20 THE work on the proposed super-speciality hospital, Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), is set to begin soon, with the State Cabinet sanctioning Rs 50 crore for the project. The District Collector, Mr Praveen Prakash, who visited the 100-acre site near the Old Dairy Farm on Thursday, instructed the engineering staff of the Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam (MCV) to level the ground and construct a compound wall. He wanted drawing of construction plans in such a way that the premises would not get submerged during heavy rains and he wanted completion of the works on schedule. The Government had appointed eminent doctor and administrator, Dr Kakarla Subba Rao, as officer on special duty (OSD) for the VIMS, he said.
Earlier, the Collector also inspected the L.V. Prasad Eye Hospital site on the adjacent land where construction work had already commenced.
