Congress's charge against BJP, Janata Dal (S)

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: The Congress has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Janata Dal (Secular) and other parties are using the World Bank report as an instrument to damage the party's image and investment climate in the State.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Congress leaders D.B. Chandre Gowda and Kagodu Thimmappa, former Ministers, said the World Bank-Confederation of Indian Industry report was not a true mirror of economic growth and investment climate when the S.M. Krishna Government was in power.

The others to address the press were V.S. Ugrappa, MLC and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary, and Tejaswini Sriramesh MP for Kanakapura.

Multinational companies, information technology and bio-technology firms would not evince interest in investment in the State if the BJP and Janata Dal (S) leaders continued to highlight corruption and bad governance in the State, they said.
