Andhra Pradesh - Anantapur

ST panel member for proper implementation of schemes

Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: Sincere implementation of the constitutional provisions meant for tribals would only ensure their development, member of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Buduru Srinivasulu said on Sunday.

He visited Mitenaik thanda, Bodenaik thanda and Ramdas thanda in Kadiri rural mandal as part of his two-day visit to the district. The tribals complained to the national commission member that their habitations had no road link.

They also requested for a fluoride-free drinking water project, sanction of houses, employment schemes to the youth, sanction of an integrated tribal development authority to the area among others.

Though there were several laws and schemes for the development of tribals in the country, lethargy in proper implementation was denying the desired development, he observed.
