Joginder and Amit do the damage

Mumbai: Medium-pacer Joginder Sharma and leg-spinner Amit Mishra helped North Zone bundle out the visiting Zimbabwe President's XI for a paltry 94 on the opening day of their Duleep Trophy league match at the Wankhede Stadium here on Thursday.

Joginder finished with figures of six for 21 in 12 overs. Mishra mopped up the tail; foxing the batsmen with turn and bounce from the drying pitch to return with figures of four for 16.

The match started only after lunch because of wet ground conditions.

Electing to bat, Zimbabwe's innings lasted just 43.2 overs. Only left-handed opener Neil Ferreira (22) and the hard-hitting lower-order batsman Charles Coventry (27) reached double figures.

At stumps, North was 62 for no loss with the openers Ravneet Ricky (27) and Shikhar Dhawan (33) going strong.
