NEW DELHI: Harinder Singh scored four goals, including a hat-trick, as Government Model HS (Chandigarh) trounced Har Prasad Das Jain HS (Bihar) 17-0 and entered the quarterfinals of the 34th Nehru junior boys hockey tournament here on Thursday. Baljinder opened the scoring and added two more to his tally. Ranjodh Singh, Simrandeep Singh, Preet Inder Singh, Aman Preet Singh and Dharamvir Singh chipped in with two goals each. Harinder slotted home three goals in a space of three minutes for his hat-trick. Birsa Munda Vidyapitha (Rourkela) rallied from a goal down to beat Raja Dumbra Singh HS Imphal 5-1and entered the last eight stage. Innocent Kullu, Rabindra Tigga, Priya Brata Swain, Shish Anmol Minz and Palkash Lakra were the scorers. Khadangbam K. Singh had put Raja Dumbra in the lead. Also making it to the quarterfinals were Guru Harkishan Public School (New Delhi), Government Modern SSS (Jalandhar) and Bangladesh Institute of Sports, Bangladesh. The Delhi school defeated Guru Gobind Singh Sports College (Lucknow) 5-3 while the Jalandhar School and the Sports Institute from Bangladesh played out a 1-1 draw.
