KOCHI: Indian Oil Corporation retained the men's and women's team titles in the 14th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board all-India carrom tournament at the KRL Transit House, Ambalamugal, on Thursday. IOC defeated ONGC 2-1 in both the finals. With two of the top four seeds in each, IOC and ONGC appeared equal in the men's final. But Yogesh Pardeshi, a former international but seeded fourth in the singles here, defeated ONGC's third-seeded Sandeep Deorukhkar in the second singles and gave IOC the crucial break. The rest was easy. IOC is winning the men's title for the 12th year in a row. The results (team championship): Men's final: IOC bt ONGC `A' 2-1. Women's final: IOC bt ONGC 2-1.
