Back Essar Steel Q2 net up 46.6 pc at Rs 101.74 cr

MUMBAI: Essar Steel Ltd has reported a 46.6 per cent increase in its second quarter net profit at Rs 101.74 crore against Rs 69.39 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income for the quarter was higher at Rs 1,589.30 crore (Rs 1,437.94 crore). Steel production during the half-year period grew 12 per cent to 12.27 lakh tonnes. Steel sales during the first half period also grew 12 per cent to 11.88 lakh tonnes (10.58 lakh tonnes). Shares of Essar Steel edged down on Friday by Rs 3.35 to Rs 40.25 on the BSE.
