Delhi blasts condemned

BANGALORE: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has condemned the serial blasts in New Delhi on Saturday while appealing to the people not to stray from the path of non-violence and give in to provocation and the nefarious designs of terrorists.

Expressing his hurt over the loss of innocent lives just before the Deepavali celebrations, Sri Ravi Shankar said, "It is high time we stop denying the growth of extremism and intolerant elements and take stringent action against them and those who support them even indirectly."

"Deepavali is a festival of joy. Though we are pained by the loss of lives, we will not stop celebrating the festival. We will light more lamps in the memory of those who lost their lives in the ghastly act of terrorism," he said. "Violence is alien to our culture and nothing can cause us to stray from the path of love and Ahimsha."

Disheartening

Saying that the Mau violence after Dasara and Delhi blasts before Deepavali are disheartening, he said the rising pocket of religious intolerance has been overlooked in the country. "We cannot afford to ignore small instances of violence and wait for big disasters to act against terrorist elements," he cautioned.
