CYBERNET Software Systems Inc, a US-based company, plans to add about 300 employees in Chennai by March 2006, according to its CEO, Mr Shiv Kumar.

The company is looking for people with skills in Microsoft, Java and Opensource. The addition will take its total headcount to 750, with most of them located in Chennai. It will add 15,000 sq.ft. of space in the city over the next two quarters to take care of the outsourcing deals won recently, he told newspersons.

Part of the $40-million CSS Group, Cybernet signed an agreement with the US-based Business Signatures Corporation and Navic Networks.

The company expanded its relationship with Operative (Tafficmac), which is likely to bring an annual revenue of $1.5 million, and this could go up about $4 million in the next couple of years, Mr Kumar said.

For Navic, an interactive television technology and service provider to the cable industry in the US, Cybernet is developing a set-top-box simulator for interactive television, he said.

According to Mr Kumar, revenue for the CSS group this fiscal should be $50-52 million. The group, which employs about 3,000 professionals, has four companies — SlashSupport (providing technical support), ReadyTestGo (software testing), Cybernet Software (software service provider) and Synaptris (software products).
