NEW DELHI: An alleged Haryana-based criminal, carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head, was gunned down in an encounter with a special team of Crime Branch of the Delhi police at Najafgarh in South-West Delhi on Wednesday. He was involved in at least 30 criminal cases. A team under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joy Tirkey, received a tip-off that a criminal, Satish, would come to C-Block Gola Dairy in Najafgarh on Wednesday night. Subsequently they laid a siege. Around 11 p.m., Satish was seen strolling . The police challenged him, asking him to surrender. Satish allegedly opened fire.. In the police firing, Satish sustained bullet injuries and was taken to Rao Tula Ram Hospital, where he was declared dead.
