Back Mixed trend in rubber prices

SPOT rubber showed a mixed trend on Monday.

RSS 4 shed Saturday's gains on moderate selling at higher levels but ISNR 20 firmed up by 25 paise amidst low supply. According to sources, the market still continued to be under the grip of unhealthy speculation. Major consuming sectors stayed inactive, as the overseas indices were weak. Sheet rubber declined to Rs 68 from Rs 68.50 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi.

NMCE rubber futures moved down quoting the November contract at Rs 68 (Rs 68.49), December at Rs 64.96 (Rs 65.46), January at Rs 64.70 (Rs 65.23) and February contract at Rs 64.80 (Rs 65.29) per kg for RSS 4.

The November contract for RSS 4 closed at Rs 68.14 against Rs 67.92 a kg on MCX.

The November futures for RSS 3 declined to 184.9 yen from 187.8 yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade closed weak at Rs 74.70 a kg against Rs 75.48 at Bangkok.

The spot rubber rates per kg were: RSS-4 Rs 68 (Rs 68.50); RSS-5 Rs 65 (Rs 65); Ungraded Rs 62 (Rs 62); ISNR 20 Rs 65.25 (Rs 65); and Latex 60% Rs 45.50 (Rs 45.50).
