Back Train services resumed in Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil sector Our Bureau
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Train services in the Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil section have been restored after a landslip near Palliyadi triggered by incessant rain in Kanyakumari district forced a stoppage on Tuesday evening. Railway gangmen patrolling the area had informed authorities here about the landslip, Southern Railway sources said. The 6124 Chennai-bound Ananthapuri Express that left Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station was detained at Kuzhithura railway station. But following track restoration works, the services resumed late in the night. Given the landslip-prone nature of the area, the Railways has mounted a vigil even as repair work on a bridge in the affected are continued on Wednesday.
