Back AP CM keen on launching of Vizag-Araku train service Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 11 ANDHRA Pradesh could soon have a `Green Valley Train' that will run between Visakhapatnam and Araku passing through the picturesque Eastern Ghats. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, instructed officials to pursue the project with a view to promote tribal tourism in the Araku valley. He gave the instruction while reviewing the activities of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC). Dr Reddy said that the Visakhapatnam circuit has immense potential with increasing number of tourists coming from Eastern parts to the country. He added that the Tirupati visitors'zone must be promoted to further diversify tourism-related activities in the temple town. The zone would have a cable car that would transport pilgrims from Tirupati city to Tirumala. He directed officials to interact and discuss with the Executive Officer of TTD on this issue. The Chief Minister said with the introduction of cable car, vehicular and air pollution could be contained and risk of mishaps and road accidents averted.
