Avalon sets up new facility

CHENNAI: Avalon Technologies, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based Sienna Corporation and engaged in providing electronics manufacturing services (EMS) to global companies, has announced the establishment of its fourth state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the MEPZ Economic Zone (MEPZ-SEZ), Chennai. It will have capabilities for complete turnkey products, PCB and cable assembly and precision-turned components. Addressing presspersons T. P. Imbichammad, Chairman and Managing Director, said the new facility was a part of the group's overall expansion plans.

The company would invest Rs. 75 crore in the next three years in Chennai to service the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India, Mr. Imbichammad said.
