Mumbai Nov. 14

CONTAINER Corporation of India, Western Region, has announced a hike in rail freight for container movement to most routes with effect from November 15.

The freight hike was prompted by a rise in cost of inputs. This is the second time in 2005 that Concor has hiked its rates in this region, the last revision having been made on May 20.

The revision covers both loaded and unloaded containers for import as well as export cargoes. The routes that are brought under the new freight revision include ICDs at Tughlakabad, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Kanpur, Nagpur and Jodhpur. Some rates are however unchanged.
