Back Ruralising IT

In the article "For a win-win business plan" (Business Line, November 14) the author has pointed out that mislocation, insufficient compensation and high salary are the faults of the software industry.

The employees in the software industry may be happy with their high salaries. But the industry needs to reduce its working hours for the sake of the employees' health and well-being.

Further, the software industry should move into rural areas. At the same time, care should be taken that this move will not altogether obliterate the small farmer. There is a need for guidelines to be followed in acquiring and developing land for industrial purposes.
