Back WiCoRe Labs ties up with Australian co for `look-alike' software M. Somasekhar
Hyderabad , Nov. 17 WOULD you like to know which of Bollywood's actor or actress you resemble most? Or if you are a sports aficionado, do you resemble Sachin Tendulkar or Sania Mirza? To find out, all that you have to do is take a picture with your camera phone and send it via MMS (multimedia messaging) to the `Twin Factor' system, a patent pending content application developed by WirelessComms Solution of Australia. By using advanced face recognition technology, the picture is compared to celebrities/other personalities stored in the database, developed by WirelessComms Solutions. When a match is found an MMS is returned to your mobile phone, indicating the degree of comparison with a morph animation of the received picture becoming the star. Popular in some of the Western countries with people playing the matching game with Hollywood stars or football heroes, the fun concept is all set to be available in India soon. WiCoRe Labs, India, and WirelessComms Solutions have recently signed an agreement to exclusively launch the latter's range of interactive MMS Solutions. WirelessComms solutions, such as Twin Factor, provide fun and creativity in the mobile space. It is targeted at multiple groups such as teens, youth and the old, Mr Martin Eyking, Director of the company, which specialises in wireless technology and rich content applications, told Business Line. So far, MMS in India is mostly seen as a means of sending picture messages. Even though MMS and camera phones are popular, its usage is by and large restricted to clicking pictures and storing them or transferring them to a PC. Mr M.B. Sai Prasad, Managing Director of WiCoRe Labs, said the move marks its entry into the area of content distribution and Twin Factor was selected as it is in sync with its strengths. To mobile operators, media companies and content providers, Twin Factor offers opportunities to create new revenue streams.
