American College wins

MADURAI: American College Higher Secondary School, Madurai won the boys overall championship with a tally of 20 points in the SAI promotion Sports in schools (Madurai District) athletic meet for boys and girls (below-16 years) conducted by the Madurai Unit of SDAT here on Wednesday.

St.Joseph's Girls HSS won the girls overall championship with a total of 25 points.

Caldwell triumphs

At Tuticorin, Caldwell Higher Secondary School beat St. Lassale HSS 25-21, 25-20 in the final of the boys the inter-school volleyball tournament here on Thursday.

Holy Cross Anglo Indian schoolgirls defeated Subbiah Vidyalaya 22-25, 25-15, 25-13 for title.

In the football final, St. Thomas Matric HSS bt St. Lassale 3-1 via tie breaker, after the teams were locked goalless at full time.
