Back Nabard sanctions Rs 359.62 crore to AP Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 22 THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 359.62 crore to Andhra Pradesh towards rural infrastructure and irrigation projects, under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF-XI). The Project Sanctioning Committee of Nabard at its meeting held on Monday sanctioned this money. With this the State has got Rs 1,212.51 crore during current fiscal under the RIDF, according to a Nabard press release. Interestingly, the cumulative RIDF support to AP has gone up to Rs 7,240 crore, which is nearly 15 per cent of the All India sanctions. This clearly shows that the State is addressing rural infrastructure issues with the help of Nabard, Mr V. Ramakrishna Rao, Chief General Manager said in the release. The current tranche of funds are to be utilised towards 249 rural road projects, 14 bridges, 24 lift irrigation projects, 18 minor irrigation and 7 mini hydel power projects. Rural roads to a length of 1,398 kms connecting 1,362 villages and 424 market centres in all the districts of the State are to be taken up with an investment of Rs 201.79 crore, out of the RIDF sanction this round. Similarly, for irrigation projects an amount of Rs 132.46 crore has been allocated. The projects are to be implemented in Adilabad, Anantapur, Nalgonda, Kadapa, Medak, Prakasam, Nizamabad, Srikakulam and Warangal.
