Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Big challenge

Nitish Kumar, who is set to become the next Chief Minister, should focus on development, public security, and employment.

Thousands of people migrate from Bihar each year in search of employment. This should be checked.

Jayant Kumar,
Kochi, Kerala

The tasks ahead of Mr. Kumar are formidable. He inherits a State that has become a symbol for corruption, illiteracy, and poverty. It will require a huge effort to set right the wrongs committed by the RJD regime.

N. Sivaraman,
Maraimalainagar, T.N.

The NDA and in particular the JD(U) should be grateful to Governor Buta Singh for recommending President's rule in Bihar. It must be acknowledged that it is entirely due to the imposition of the President's Rule, and consequent fresh election, that the JDU and its allies have emerged victorious on their own.

S.K. Choudhury,
Bangalore

The NDA should concentrate on the development of the State, which is abundant in resources. On the other hand, the RJD and its allies, instead of finding excuses for their defeat should introspect and try to correct their mistakes.

G. Ramachandran,
Kuzhithurai, T.N.
