Workers busy packing apples in Kashmir. This year, the fruit production valley has been good after a long gap.

Kashmir produces about 11 lakh tonnes of apple of which nearly eight lakh tonnes go outside the State. Most of the production is sent to Delhi from where it goes to other parts of the world.

Himachal Pradesh, the other major producer of the fruit, has projected a record crop of 5.40 lakh tonnes this year.
