Back Students meet on heritage at Changanassery

KOTTAYAM: The Fashion Technology department of Assumption College, Changanassery is organising a seminar on the rich heritage of India on November 25 at the conclusion of the one-month long intensive research of the students on lifestyles, arts and crafts of various States in the country.

A colourful fashion show is also to be presented to coincide the occasion.

The arts and crafts documentation is an integral part of the student's curriculum. The students of the department visited Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Goa to learn the lifestyle of the people and culture there and prepared documentary films based on their experience.

The presentations by the students include the documentary film on crafts and ornaments on Chhattisgarh, traditional textiles and crafts of three tribes of Meghalaya, crafts of Karnataka, the temples and churches of Goa and traditional crafts of Rajasthan.
