Letters to the Editor
This refers to the editorial, `Decline and fall of the RJD,' (Nov. 23). The Bihar turnaround certainly has lessons for the UPA Government. If it is willing to learn, that is. It trusted RJD chief Lalu Prasad's assessment about the way the people of Bihar would vote and saw its dreams crumble.
K.S. Ramakrishnan,
Mr. Paswan's adamant attitude has resulted in a division of the secular vote. This worked to the advantage of the NDA partners. Despite the setback, the UPA partners need to remain united to be able to form a secular Government in Bihar in the future.
P. Santhosh,
Mr. Paswan should take the blame for the defeat of the secular alliance. His tactics have played right into the hands of the NDA partners, the JD(U) in particular.
M. Chalam,
The UPA should show maturity and support the coalition elected by the people. It should also ensure that Mr. Prasad and Mr. Paswan do not spoil the atmosphere in Bihar.
C. S. Sukhavanam,
M.K.B. Nambiar,
