Back Pharma congress to focus on discovery, research Our Bureau
Hyderabad , Nov. 27 THE 57th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) with the theme `Pharmacist: Drug Discovery and Research' is being held at the Hitex Grounds here from December 2 to 4. Addressing newspersons here on Saturday in this connection,, the Congress' local organising committee Chairperson, Dr Renukaa Datla, said more than 6,000 delegates from 40 countries are expected to participate in the Congress. According to her, the national and international delegates include CEOs, top executives from pharmaceutical and allied industry, officials from regulatory departments, pharmacists from trade and profession, research & drug development personnel, pharmaceutical consultants, hospital administrators, top officials of central and State agencies, academicians and teachers. Around 50 foreign speakers and 35 Indian speakers would address the IPC-2005 covering various topics including clinical research, Indian patent regime, status of pharmaceutical education in the country, novel drug delivery systems, biotechnology etc, Dr Datla said. Besides scientific and oral poster paper presentations, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) would organise an international exhibition on pharmaceutical and allied industry.
