MARCHING INTO THE FUTURE: Students of Sudarshan Vidya Mandir participating in the march past during the sports meet
BANGALORE: Naval cadets of the National Cadet Corps of St. Joseph's High School, Briand Square, visited an orphanage, Bosco Home, in Chamarajpet recently under the guidance of their NCC officer Bhaskar Hegde. They distributed fruits, snacks and clothes to inmates. They cleaned the streets of Chamarajpet I Main, under social service education. The cadets also collected Rs. 22,400 towards National Blind Association.
Sports meet
School principal Hemaa Narayan declared the meet open on November 17. At the valedictory function held on November 18, chief guests Shankar Rao Gujjar, Deputy Superintendent of Physical Education, and Sridhara Murthy, Deputy Director of NAL, gave away prizes to the winners in various sports events.
`Spoorti 2005'
Competitions such as pick and speak, quiz, prose to poetry, singing, dance and drawing will be organised. A science seminar has also been organised to commemorate World Physics Year 2005. It will be held as a competition wherein a participant is allowed to present papers on artificial satellites, aerodynamics, optical fibres, the physics of hearing and principles of physics used in astronomy.
