Bangalore: Tata Motors will roll out its first heavy duty 300 HP tipper "Tata Novus" for the mining industry in mid-December, according to Vice-President (Commercial Vehicles Business Unit) Shyam Mani. This will be Tata group's first vehicle to be launched after acquisition of Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company. Mr. Mani told presspersons here on Tuesday that Tata Motors had established a new facility in Jamshedpur with an installed capacity of 6,000 trucks a year. The facility will customise vehicles for specific industries such as cement and mining. Mr. Mani said Tata Motors had recorded total sales of 50,115 vehicles in the commercial vehicle segment for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 as against 44,076 units during the corresponding period in 2004. Exports accounted for 13,994 units as against 6,333 units last year.
