BANGALORE: The late winter has resulted in shops usually selling winter wear reporting dull business. Some shopkeepers even say that many people would have spent money on umbrellas and raincoats and now hesitate to splurge on new woollens. Only roadside stalls selling pullovers, cardigans and jerkins of the cheaper sort are thriving. Those who buy them know they are unlikely to last beyond a season or two, but at Rs. 200 or less a piece, who is complaining? Those who are buying more expensive winter clothing are those who have no choice but to travel to the western hemisphere in the winter.
