Back IAF rescues flood victims from Amaravathi River

AN IAF helicopter from Sulur Air Force Station, near Coimbatore, today rescued four villagers who were stranded in the middle of the swollen Amaravathi river after water was released from Amaravathi dam due to torrential rains.

IAF swung into action following a request made by the Coimbatore District Collector, Mr S. Kosalaraman, to the Station Commander of 43 Wing Air Force, Group Captain Mr S.N. Mohanty, according to an IAF release.
