Traffic police to introduce complaint card system

HYDERABAD: Taking the cases of traffic violations, faulty meters in autorickshaws or misbehaviour of RTC conductors to the notice of officials is only a `post-box' away now.

Continuing the crackdown on erring drivers of autorickshaws and RTC buses, the city traffic police are introducing `traffic complaint cards' to be available at 27 select places, including railway and bus stations, traffic police booths and important junctions.

For lodging a complaint, people will be required to write details like the type of vehicle, date, time, nature of complaint, their address and drop it in a post-box. "Citizens need not be worried about stamps since postage charges are paid by the addressee - the DCP Traffic-1," Traffic Police Additional Commissioner A.K. Khan told a press conference on Sunday.

A separate cell headed by the DCP-1 would be created to investigate into complaints sent through the cards, Mr. Khan said.
