HYDERABAD: Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly were stalled for almost an hour on Tuesday evening owing to the "confusion" over the statement of objects and reasons of a bill introduced in the House on Tuesday evening. The Bill seeking amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1987 was passed amidst strong protests by the Opposition even as BJP member G. Kishan Reddy staged a walkout. The Opposition members alleged that the Government was trying to tax the ailing cooperative societies.
