Bincy Devasya betters her own mark in javelin

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Quality performances were at a premium and records remained under cover until Bincy Devasya set a new mark in women's javelin on the second day of the 66th Kerala University inter-collegiate athletic meet at the LNCPE Stadium here on Thursday.

The second year degree student from SNCW threw the javelin to 41.04 metres, in her third attempt, to better her own mark of 38.85m set last year.

Defending champions FMNC College, Kollam (45) and SNCW, Kollam (41) led the points tally in men's and women's sections respectively at the end of second day's competitions.
