Man kills wife, ends life

BANGALORE: A man allegedly strangled his wife to death and later committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Jalahalli on Thursday night.

The police gave the names of the dead as Vishwanath (28) and Susheela (23).

The police said Vishwanath, a native of Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh, was working in a private factory at Goruguntepalya here. The couple were married for one-and-a-half years and they were living in Jalahalli for the past one year.

The police suspect marital problem to be the reason for the incident. This is seventh such case reported in the city in 16 days. In all the seven cases, the victims belonged to lower middle class families.

According to the police, marital discord or financial problems had driven the people to take the extreme step.
