Back PNB to carve out Andhra Pradesh zone

PUNJAB National Bank has decided to carve out a separate zone for Andhra Pradesh to focus better on Southern States.

The bank has made the necessary arrangements and the zone is to be formed shortly, said Mr Gobinda Banerjee, Deputy General Manager (Integrated Zonal Office, Chennai).

Mr Banerjee, who was here to take part in a customers' meeting, said the bank had no specific products for each State. But the bank will certainly try to address the specific needs of the States

Mr M. S. Maun, Senior Regional Manager, said the bank will addBhimaram village in Warangal district to its central banking solution network.

The test project is aimed at evaluating the performance. The bank will extend the facility to other branches in the rural areas after evaluating the pilot project.

The bank proposes to bring in 500 more branches into the CBS network next year.
