ANANTAPUR: Central Bureau of Investigation probing the Paritala Ravindra murder case on Monday summoned the wife of the alleged main shooter in the killing, Julakanti Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Sreenu, Laxmi Rajyam, and questioned her for about two hours. Laxmi Rajyam was specially brought in a vehicle from her in-laws' place in Guntur district to the CBI's camp office here in the morning along with her children. She was learnt to have been grilled by the investigating officers for about two hours to crosscheck the information spilled by Moddu Sreenu during interrogation over the last six days. As the court had already denied permission for kin and relatives to visit Moddu Sreenu while in CBI custody, Laxmi Rajyam was not allowed to see her husband lodged on the same premises. She was found in tears while coming out of the CBI camp office. Sources stated that the wife of the second accused in the case was likely to be questioned again on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the week's custody of Moddu Sreenu given to the CBI by the AJFCM court here will expire on Tuesday morning and he is likely to be produced in court on Tuesday.
Spot visits
During the last two days Moddu Sreenu was also learnt to have been taken around two towns in the neighbouring Kadapa district, where he had allegedly given interview to a private television news channel within a week of Paritala Ravindra's murder on January 24 this year in one of the towns. Besides, Moddu Sreenu was also learnt to have taken to Bangalore for one day as part of the investigation.
