BANGALORE: Bangalore Police Commissioner Ajai Kumar Singh on Monday said that the police would look into the complaint on any foul play in the kidnapping and murder of Prathiba, an employee of HP e- global, the BPO outfit of Hewlett-Packard. Talking to presspersons here, Dr. Singh said: "I came to know about the complaint by members of Prathiba's family when they met me today. We will look into it." He said that the investigation till now had not revealed the involvement of a second person in the crime. The cab driver Shivakumar has been arrested by the police for the offence. On Sunday M.S. Nagabhushana, maternal uncle of Prathiba, had spoken about Prathiba's marriage and her financial transactions. He said that these facts would be of help in finding out if any other person was involved in the murder of Prathiba. Dr. Singh said there was no need for conducting a narco analysis test on Shivakumar as he had admitted to committing the crime.
Security system
On his meeting with representatives of BPOs planned for Tuesday, Dr. Singh said it would help in knowing the security systems adopted by these firms and how it could be improved. No women's organisation had been called for the meeting, he said. At the meeting with members of various women's organisations on Monday, it was suggested that the BPO managements should be more responsible towards women employees, Dr. Singh added.
