Dak adalat to be held today
The Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Bangalore, will hold a "dak adalat" on postal complaints on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the conference hall of the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Palace Road. People who have grievances on postal matters can write to the Assistant Director, office of the Chief Postmaster General, Palace Road, Bangalore - 560 001 (ph: 22253772). The complaints should reach the office before January 2.
Carols in Braille
Rotary Bangalore Downtown in association with IDL Foundation and Prestige Group is bringing out Christmas carols in Braille this festive season for the benefit of visually impaired persons. Archbishop Ignatius Pinto will release the Braille version of the carols on Friday at the Forum Mall in Koramangala after which there will be a special carol singing by visually challenged persons from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Interested persons can join the occasion and every participant will get a free white cane. 845 inducted into IAF
As many as 845 Ab Initio airmen trainees were inducted into the Indian Air Force at an impressive passing out parade held at the Air Force Station, Jalahalli. Air Marshal B.N. Gokhale, Senior Air Staff Officer, Headquarters Training Command, IAF, reviewed the parade and presented trophies to award-winners.
Water adalat
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold a "water adalat" on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. at V.V. Puram. The adalat will be conducted at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Central-3 Sub-division, Visvesvarapuram. Disputes of consumers coming under the jurisdiction of Banappa Park 1 and 2 V.V. Puram limits will be heard and settled at the adalat.
Renewal of pass
The concession bus passes issued to disabled persons by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) in Bangalore Urban District will be renewed from December 26 for 2006. Those who wish to renew their passes may buy a demand draft for Rs. 250 favouring the Divisional Controller, KSRTC Bangalore (Central) Division, and approach his office at Shanthinagar, Bangalore, along with the existing bus pass and two passport size photographs.
