Kaleem brought to OGH for check-up
Kaleem, who was in judicial custody after being arrested in connection with the blast in Task Force office, was brought to Osmania General Hospital for medical check-up on Tuesday. He was in the hospital for nearly 30 minutes and taken back to jail amidst tight security arrangements after doctors examined him.
Woman attender found dead
An attender working in the Hyderabad Agriculture Cooperative Association, P. Laxmi, 40, who went missing on Saturday, was found dead on roadside at Chatrapuri Colony in Raidurg under suspicious conditions. Mystery shrouded her death as no injuries were found on the body. "The clothes were removed and kept on the body raising doubts of foul play but facts are yet to be ascertained," Raidurg Inspector R. Sudarshan said. A resident of Baghlingampally, the victim left office on Saturday and was not seen since then.
Engineering students' bid to commit suicide
Engineering students, hailing from Kurnool, who allegedly fled their houses following their parents' refusal over their marriage proposal, attempted suicide by consuming poison in a lodge at Sultanbazar on Monday. Sai Mohan Reddy, 25, and Swetha, 22, checked into room no. 106 of Amaravathi lodge. Around noon, lodge workers heard Reddy shouting for help. When they broke open the door, the couple was found lying unconscious in the room. They were shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH). Doctors said their condition is critical.
Widow sets herself afire, dies
A widow M. Parvathi, 60, who set herself afire allegedly annoyed over the behaviour of her son and daughter-in-law two days ago at Goshamahal, died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at OGH. "Neighbours said they used to hear heated arguments among the woman and son and daughter-in-law. We have not yet received any specific complaint," the Shahinayatgunj police said.
Cylinder blast: security guard killed
A private security guard Jitender Singh, 35, who sustained burns along with his wife and two children in the house when leaked cooking gas caught fire accidentally four days ago, died at OGH late on Monday night. There was an explosion as the leaked gas caught fire when Singh lighted a cigarette. His wife Sarita, 33, son Rohit, 8, and daughter Keerti, 6, are undergoing treatment.
Elderly man dies in freak accident
A 75-year-old man M. Sayanna, who accidentally caught fire while pouring kerosene on woods ignited to beat wintry weather two days ago, succumbed to his burns at OGH on Tuesday. The accident occurred outside his house.
Man succumbs after seven months
A 45-year-old man Janardhan died on Monday nearly seven months after he was hit by a car while crossing the road near Malakpet rice mill. The victim of L.B. Nagar has been undergoing treatment at OGH since the accident on May 29.
Mentally challenged girl `raped'
A labourer allegedly raped a mentally challenged girl aged about 15 years after luring her to his hut by offering some gift two days ago at Shalivahananagar in Malakpet. The victim was alone in her hut when the accused person, Bhiksham took her to his hut and sexually assaulted her. The police launched a hunt for the accused person.
Two juveniles arrested
The Mirchowk police on Tuesday arrested Naganna, 11, and Paul Kumar, 10, both hailing from Done of Kurnool district, and recovered a bag of silver coins they had allegedly stolen from a car parked at Gulzar Houz three days ago. The juveniles were picked up while trying to dispose of the stolen property.
