Back Reservations about reservation

It is really strange to observe our MPs going about so faithfully with providing reservations every opportunity they get. The commitment with which they take on to formulating and clearing legislation on reservations makes "reservations" appear an end in itself rather than a means for betterment of the target sections.

While positive discrimination is welcome, it does not necessarily have to go on indefinitely.

Has sufficient emphasis, to ensure that the benefits reach only the targeted sections, complemented good intentions?

Is there an example of any area where the reservations, after serving the purpose, were phased out?

If no, then isn't it time we evolved alternativee methods or approaches to raise the levels of those sections of society?
